Megamart celebrates heritage in Tembisa

Tembisa Megamart hosted a heritage celebration spectacle on September 23.

Megamart centre manager Andreas Mathe said the event was organised by the centre management of the shopping mall.

“Employees from all our shops were wearing their traditional attire. We had braai stands available to give free hot dogs and cold drinks for attending customers. We gave away prizes like T-shirts and caps. Our biggest prize was the double bed and the free delivery thereof to the luckiest customer,” said Mathe.

Staff from Roots Butchery won the first prize and the second prize went to the staff of Builders Warehouse.

“Our biggest prize winner was Sola Phasha of Duduza 4108. She came to Roots to buy stew and she was randomly selected as the best-dressed customer.

“There was a space reserved for exhibitors of all kinds. From craft work and bead work to Ethiopian shoes and necklaces. It was a fun filled event”.

He said the aim of the event was to celebrate heritage as it is known that South Africa is a rainbow nation with diverse cultures.
