Seven arrested after business burglary in Croydon

Tsotsotso said the seven suspects were transferred to Kempton Park Police Station.

SEBENZA SAPS and members of an Edenvale security company caught seven suspects shortly after a business burglary in Croydon on October 16.

Pieter Roos from Vusubeki Management Services said he received a call from Mamba Security that morning to inform him of a burglary taking place at his business premises.

“They said they saw the company car and an Avanza leave the company premises and they followed the vehicles. They managed to arrest five men travelling in the Avanza,” said Roos.

“Later that day, Sebenza police officers recovered the company vehicle in Ivory Park in Tembisa where two more suspects were arrested,” said Sebenza SAPS spokesperson Sgt Sharon Tsotsotso.

A third vehicle, a Toyota Quantum, which was also involved in the burglary, was recovered.

She said police also obtained CCTV footage showing the suspects fill the cars up with petrol at a filling station and leaving without paying.

Tsotsotso said the seven suspects were transferred to Kempton Park Police Station.
