Taxi overturns on R21, injuring sixteen

SIXTEEN people were injured on Monday morning when a taxi rolled on the R21 southbound near the R23.

ER24 paramedics, along with other services, arrived on the scene to find the taxi lying on its side in the middle of the road, facing oncoming traffic, Russel Meiring of ER24 said.

The passengers had already climbed out of the taxi and were found walking around.

“Paramedics assessed the patients and found sixteen had sustained injuries ranging from minor to moderate. Paramedics treated the patients for their injuries after which they were transported to various hospitals,” Meiring said.
