Toddler (2) drowns in swimming pool: five drownings in 3 months
Paramedics immediately responded and met the family and child on Monument Road.
A girl, believed to be two years old, drowned in a private pool in Kempton Park on Monday afternoon.
It was the second drowning in just over a week in the city. On September 29 a one-year-old child also drowned in a swimming pool.

ER24 paramedics were alerted to the latest incident at about 4.45pm. Paramedics immediately responded and met the family with the child on Monument Road, a short distance away from the hospital, Russel Meiring from ER24 said.
Although paramedics could not find any signs of life, CPR and advanced life support interventions were immediately initiated in an effort to stabilise her vital signs. After treatment, the girl was transported to a nearby hospital but was declared dead shortly afterwards.

Meiring said it was understood the guardian found the child floating in the pool. She immediately went to the child’s rescue and contacted ER24.
Local authorities will be investigating this matter further.
In August two other toddlers also drowned in swimming pools, the one in Rhodesfield and the other on Highveld Road.
