Olifantsfontein train commuters urged to walk in groups

There are suspected criminals who are targeting train commuters at Olifantsfontein

Residents who commute by train using Olifantsfontein Train Station are urged to walk in groups due to heightened criminal activities taking place in the area.

According to Olifantsfontein SAPS spokesperson Const Mokete Serakwana, the local police station is receiving an escalating number of robbery, rape and murder reports.

“We are pleading with members of the community commuting with trains at the Olifantsfontein Station to walk in groups to avoid being the victims of these criminals,” Serakwana said.

“There are suspected criminals who are targeting train commuters at Olifantsfontein who rob, rape or even worse kill people for their belongings.”

People are encouraged to report any suspected criminal behaviour to the Olifantsfontein SAPS at (011) 316 3010 or by dialling 10111.
