Treading through Tibet at Modderfontein
This talk is more about the people of the country
The speaker at Modderfontein Conservation Society’s November evening meeting has had to pull out for good reasons.
Ornithologist, bird artist, tour guide and raconteur Clive Hopcroft has stepped in at short notice to replace him. Yes, it is just one person with all these extraordinary and well-honed talents.
Following a recent tour to Nepal, Hopcroft was persuaded to continue on to Tibet to help organise a large group of culture tourists. As a result, he has compiled an enlightening and amusing talk, ‘Treading Through Tibet”.
The meeting takes place at Modderfontein Town Hall, 1 Casino Road at 7.30pm on November 16.
While Hopcroft is known for his informative and entertaining talks on birds and their doings, this talk is more about the people of the country, the Tibetan landscape, visiting the capital Lhasa, the Potala Palace, Everest Base Camp, many monasteries and a few of the birds that he managed to see as he travelled across the country.
The popularity of his talks can be gauged by the large number of people who have attended his past presentations. Hopcroft’s lively wit and spirited presentation are always a delight.
