Birch Acres teen caught with dagga worth R1 500

Police stopped a suspicious male pedestrian walking along Isimuku Street

A 19-year-old teenager was arrested on Tuesday after police found dagga to the value of R1 500 in his possession.

The dagga, weighing 420.95 grams, was wrapped with cellotape, said Capt Lesibana Molokomme, spokesperson for Norkem Park SAPS.

He said at about 11am members of Norkem Park Crime Prevention Unit were doing their daily stop and search operations in Birch Acres. They stopped a suspicious male pedestrian walking along Isimuku Street.

“He was asked permission to be searched. The permission was granted to the officers and upon searching him, the two rolls of compressed dagga were discovered.”

He will be charged for possession of dagga.
