Kempton Park bikers to show love for desperate animals
People can make donations at the club
MORE than 90 bikers of Hell Razor East Rand will depart from their clubhouse on Dann Road in Glen Marais on Sunday for a charity ride in aid of the Animal Anti-Cruelty League.
The initiative has been organised to help the league take care of animals in distress over the festive season.
Kitten food, squeaky toys, blankets, tennis balls, dog and cat food are among the items the bikers will donate.
Organiser of the ride John Knight said although the campaign would predominantly featurie bikers, ordinary members of the public are also invited to donate towards this good cause.
“We are raising funds for the league because during the festive season many animals get frightened by fireworks. We thought this campaign could assist,” he said.
He said the problem is that people go away in December and leave animals behind. “When New Year night comes, animals get scared and run away and so during this time of the year, many animals get lost. This was when we thought we should embark on this course.”
“When we visited the Animal Anti-Cruelty League, it was heartbreaking to see these animals not having homes,” Knight added.
The ride will start at 16 Dann Road at 8am and will head to the league in Johannesburg at 9am. People can make donations at the club.
