Community activist dies at 65
She was a mother to many in the community, who will be remembered for her selflessness
Olga Rankoko (65), one of Tembisa’s finest community activists, made her final exit on November 17 after a very brief illness.
Ma Rankoko, as she was affectionately known, was very modest, energetic and passionate about uplifting others. A true volunteer at heart, always extending herself to help others, she served her community with distinction.
She was an ANC deputy secretary for Ward 7 who would be remembered as one of the founding members of the branch. She has also served as a member of the School Governing Body for Ingqayizivele Secondary School.
She was a mother to many in the community, who will be remembered for her selflessness.
Her passing has left her children with no mother, her grandchildren with no grandmother, her siblings with no sister. Through her life, many have learned invaluable lessons, including the art of giving when you have very little to give.
She leaves behind her two sisters and two brothers, five sons, two daughters, 20 grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Her memorial service will be held on November 23 at 4pm at the Apostolic Faith Mission Church, corner Andrew Mapheto Drive and DM Marokane Street, 1 Maokeng Section.
Her funeral service will be at the same venue at 7am on November 25.
