A 34-year-old man was arrested on charges of assault and possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition at the Max informal settlement in Pomona last week Thursday.
This was after Kempton Park SAPS was called to a domestic violence scene where a female victim alleged her boyfriend had assaulted her.
“The victim also alleged the suspect threatened to shoot her,” said Capt Jethro Mtshali, spokesperson for Kempton Park SAPS.
“Police found both the victim and suspect in a shack and during questioning the victim showed the police 36 rounds of ammunition,” Mtshali said.
“After thoroughly interrogating the suspect, officers found a firearm and six more rounds of ammunition.”
