A Mercedes Benz truck hijacked in Limpopo was recovered by Benoni Flying Squad at a plot in Brentwood Park on Monday.
A 30-year-old suspect was arrested and will face charges of possession of a hijacked vehicle, possession of suspected stolen property (oil) and theft of diesel in Kempton Park Magistrate’s Court.
Sgt Angel Mkwanazi, spokesperson for the flying squad, said members were following up on information received and went to the plot.
On arrival, one suspect was loading diesel from a white Mercedes Benz truck onto his bakkie. He was arrested.
According to Mkwanazi preliminary investigations revealed that two other tucks and a bakkie that were also loading diesel also belong to the suspect.
Police are looking for other accomplices. Anyone with information can call the nearest police station or 10111.
