Norkem Park SAPS pounds on illegal liquor outlet in Birch Acres

Six refrigerators were also removed from the premises

It took police officers more than five hours on Wednesday to close down an illegal liquor outlet in Birch Acres extentions.

In the process 1 886 litres of alcohol, six refrigerators and a music system were removed from the premises, Capt Lesibana Molokomme, spokesperson for Norkem Park SAPS said.

He said the operation took place in conjunction with provincial liquor officers under the leadership of Station commander Col Tobie Strauss.

The operation started at around 10am. The owner of the outlet was given a fine of R1 500 for operating illegally without valid documents.

Strauss thanked everyone who took part  in the operation.
