200 injured in train accident at Geldenhuys Railway Station in Germiston

About 200 people were injured on Tuesday morning following a train collision at the Geldenhuys Train Station in Germiston.
ER24 paramedics, along with various other services, arrived on the scene to find scores of commuters walking around. Upon closer inspection, paramedics found that one of the carriages had derailed but had not overturned, Russel Meiring of ER24 said.
Paramedics and EMS set up a triage area and began assessing the patients.
About 200 people were assessed and found to have sustained injuries ranging from minor to moderate. Fortunately, no fatalities were found on the scene.
Once the patients have been treated, they will be transported to various hospitals in the area for further treatment.
The exact details surrounding this incident are not yet known but local authorities are on the scene and will be launching an investigation into the matter.
