WATCH: Old house in Glen Marais makes way for new development

Veld Street in Glen Marais was abuzz with commotion on the morning of January 10.

Onlookers watched with interest as a yellow bulldozer demolished an old house that is only a stone’s throw away from Laerskool Kruinsig.

In the place of the previous structure, a new development of 28 units will be built. These units are set to be completed by the end of 2018.

Manager of the demolition process Joshua Mulothi estimated that construction on the site would commence within three weeks. He was excited about the prospects for the area:

“This was a very old house, probably built in the 40s. Once construction is complete, a beautiful development will be in its place.”
