Ford Bantam with load of groceries hijacked in Ivory Park speedily recovered

The Ford Bantam was recovered on Phungo Crescent at Ivory Park Extension Nine at 2.45 pm.

A white Ford Bantam loaded with a large stock of groceries was on January 24, at around 2pm, hijacked at Ivory Park Extension Nine.

The EMPD CLU members received information of the hijacked vehicle at 2.20 pm from the vehicle tracking company.

According to the EMPD Chief Supt Wilfred Kgasago, the vehicle was recovered at Ivory Park not very far away from where it was hijacked.

“Information received from the victim was that there were three armed men who committed the crime. The load of groceries, including sweets, toiletries and stationery, were still in the vehicle when it was recovered,” he said.

The Ford Bantam was recovered on Phungo Crescent at Ivory Park Extension Nine at 2.45 pm.

The vehicle was later towed to SAPS Van Ryn pound in Benoni for further investigations and safekeeping.
