Person wanted for questioning by Kempton Park SAPS

Do you know Raymond or Godfrey?

Kempton Park SAPS detectives kindly request the community to assist them to trace and locate a man that is wanted for questioning.

“It is alleged that a victim, residing in Kempton Park, put up an advertisement on OLX for his Big Boy motorcycle,” said Capt Jethro Mtshali, spokesperson for the Kempton Park SAPS.

“He advertised that he was selling his motorcycle for R13 500 on the morning of February 11 and on the very same day around 2pm he received a call from a potential buyer who introduced himself as Godfrey.

“The said buyer, Godfrey, claimed to have deposited the full amount into the victim’s account and sent the victim the alleged proof of payment from the bank on the same day.”

The buyer allegedly sent someone else named Raymond to fetch the motorcycle from the victim.

“On Monday, the victim went to cash his money only to find that he was scammed and that the proof of payment is fake,” said Mtshali.

“The police want to question Raymond with hopes to locate Godfrey and recover the motorcycle.

“Once again, police warns the community to be very careful with online purchasing and selling of goods before the whole transaction is completed. Please be on high alert because there are a lot of scammers who pose as buyers or sellers.”
