Moriting Section couple’s quest to feed the hungry in Tembisa, Ivory Park
The Molekwas aid needy families with food so parents and their children don’t go to bed on an empty stomach
Moriting Section couple Mpho and Simon Molekwa keep on ensuring that poor families in Tembisa and Ivory Park go to bed with full stomachs when they deliver food parcels through the Life 4 You Foundation project.
The couple sustains needy families with basic household items such as bags of 12.5kg maize meal, 10kg rice, 2kg sugar, teabags, 2 litre oil, soup, salt, tinned food, flour, 10kg samp and 10kg maize rice.
They recently made a donation to a group of 40 families.
Life 4 You Foundation chairperson Mpho said they are able to feed disadvantaged families through project-sustaining sponsorships from Iwisa Maize Meal, National Lottery Commission, the Widows Care Programme, which is based in Rivonia, and Oakmoor KMC Butchery.

“At Life 4 You Foundation we are striving hard to ensure that poverty is alleviated and our community gets developed at all costs. We believe the project is God-chosen one to give hope to those who thought He has abandoned them. We care for the widows, orphans, foreign people, children and elderly residents because our good Lord is great in the lives of His creation,” added Mpho.
Life 4 You Foundation, which was founded in August 2013, not only focuses on the feeding scheme programme. They have also started a computer centre that will help unemployed youth learn computer skills every Tuesday and Wednesday.
The recently revamped children feeding scheme serves meals every Friday to Sunday at 3pm at Moriting Section.
“Our renewed children feeding scheme reinforces our mission and commitment of alleviating poverty in making sure that the underprivileged are not deprived of their rights to live in dignity, because sleeping on an empty stomach is not only shaming the victims, but the whole society.
“We cannot have a situation where people throw food away while others are starving. It is therefore everyone’s responsibility to make sure that no one sleeps on an empty stomach. Neighbours should watch their neighbours and families need to support each other,” said Simon, Life 4 You Foundation’s founder.

He added that they call upon unemployed young people living around Moriting, Sethokga, Mashemong and Sedibeng to come to their centre whenever they need free CVs done to search for employment.
“Our cause is doing its best with the little resources we have in making sure that our communities are developed. We call upon other generous businesses to support our centre to make sure that children and unemployed youth receive the necessary support in our community.
“It is our wish to render all these services seven days a week, but due to constraints in resources we are not able to do so. Youth interested in volunteering are also welcomed,” said Simon.
