Child welfare joins Tekkie Tax Day
Child Welfare embarks on fund-raising events to resolve their financial crisis.
In an effort to resolve its serious financial challenges, Child Welfare Kempton Park has decided to embark on annual fund-raising events.
One of the fund-raiser events the organisation plans to take part in is the Tekkie Tax 2018 fund-raising campaign.
“Tekkie Tax is the biggest and funkiest national fund-raising campaign owned and managed by welfare organisations, for the benefit of welfare organisations,” said Makha Thusi, director at Child Welfare Kempton Park.
“More than 250 welfare organisations participate in the national Tekkie Tax Day campaign. The 2018 campaign will take place on May 25 and hundreds of thousands of people should participate by wearing a sticker and a pair of funky shoelaces in their tekkies.
“You can get involved in a cause close to your heart and dedicate your time and money for a better cause. Tekkie Tax is the best way to go if your heart is open and you want to make a difference because in this campaign you can have the assurance that your sticker and shoelace donations really have an impact in somebody’s life.”
There are five different categories to choose from, depending on where your heart lies: Animals, Bring Hope, Children, Disability and Education.
Child Welfare Kempton Park has all of these stickers available to order at R10 a sticker. The community, including local businesses, corporates, schools, churches and individuals, is encouraged to support by purchasing a sticker. One may call and order large numbers. These may be delivered to you, alternatively, visit the Child Welfare Kempton Park’s offices at 19 Maxwell Street.
Thusi said T-shirts are available at R95 for adults and R75 for children and shoelaces are R25, all of which are also available for order.
