Organisation inspires teens with a purpose
Teens With Purpose is a mobile ministry aimed at helping young people
Young people who are determined to serve their community with diligence and consistency are Teens With Purpose
They are a mobile ministry aimed at helping young people, mostly teenagers, to become motivated and inspired.
Youth from in and around the community attended a Breakfast Round Table organised by the Teens With Purpose organisation at Teanong Section on March 24.
Guest speakers were Amanda Nomnqa (founder of SheisBrave), McDonald Thato (founder of Vukamusha) and Amu Rikhotso (founder of Amu’s Hair Therapy).
The organisation is a team of six young people: Neo Ntsoereng, Rivonia Singo, Kamogelo Thole, Thandile Xalisa, Gugulethu Sidu and Sindi Dlamini. The organisation is a registered NPO founded by Sindi Dlamini and Themba Dlamini.
According to Sindi, the organisation’s vision is to stimulate and ignite true purpose and self-behaviour among young people.
“The primary objective of the event was to unleash the potential within young people and unlock their dreams, such as becoming young entrepreneurs who have enough knowledge and potential to handle their own businesses. We believe there is a business person within every individual,” said Sindi.
During the event, young people had a chance to a question-and-answer session in order to ask about the challenges they face on a daily basis.
“The discussion session was eye-opening, inspiring and hugely informative. It was meant to clear our youth from the complications and come up with solutions to change the social cohesion and economic status in the Tembisa community. Young people were informed about social entrepreneurship, how to start a business and what to expect when venturing into a business,” said Sindi.
She added they are looking forward to hosting more events and bringing change to the community.
“We appreciate the support provided by the youth. We are not just another organisation, we mean real business. We believe in transformation and change in our township,” said Sindi.
