Boyfriend jumps from 9th floor after domestic dispute in Kempton CBD

Police have opened an inquest docket for further investigations

A man accused of being involved in a domestic dispute on Sunday jumped nine floors to his death on Sunday.

Capt Jethro Mtshali, Kempton Park SAPS spokesperson, said the incident happened shortly before 6am at a high-rise apartment complex near Margaret Avenue in Kempton Park central business district.

He said the police were approached by the female victim, who alleged she was being abused by her boyfriend.

“The Police went to where the suspect was to be arrested. On arrival one of the tenants informed the police that the suspect was trying to commit suicide by throwing himself out of a window.

“As they went there, the suspect jumped from the ninth floor and was certified dead by paramedics. Police have opened an inquest docket for further investigations,” Mtshali said.
