Thembisa Mile offers R121 500 prize purse

All registered finishers receive SPAR goodie bags, while Discovery Vitality members can earn 600 Vitality fitness points for completing the 10km race.

Elite athletes competing in the Thembisa Mile, presented by Lenmed Zamokuhle Private Hospital, will compete for a prize purse of R121 500.


The 10km men’s and women’s winners will each take home R10 000, while the winners of the invitational Mile receive R4 000.
The event also offers a range of benefits for registered participants.

Runners who registered before Wednesday, October 14 receive customised race bibs.

Participants can also purchase the official Thembisa Mile T-shirt when registering online for R150, excluding the service provider’s online service fee.

All registered finishers will receive bronze medals, while category winners will be awarded gold medals.

With prize money, medals, goodie bags and additional participant benefits on offer, this year’s Thembisa Mile and 10km promises plenty of motivation for both competitive athletes and community runners.
