The brighter side of things shows at Gajiga Run

Beautiful scenery, seven massive inflatables and a whole lot of fun. This is the fun-filled race that awaited families from across the East Rand at Curro Serengeti’s Gajiga Run, last week Saturday.

Gajiga, according to the organisation’s website, means “the brighter side of things”. Young and old were clearly excited to start the 5km route at the foot of asambe (begin), a giant inflatable with steps. After the climb, participants slid into the fun-run, where six more obstacles waited for them.

Umhubhe (tunnel) seemed to be the favourite of the day, as runners tried to jump over a giant inflated ball – much to the amusement of those watching.

Finally, they arrived at ukugcina (finish), where everyone received a medal.

As participants laughed themselves fit, it was clear – fun was the winner of the day.
