Monument Road has been opened again following protest action earlier this morning. The police will monitor the situation.

Residents are urged to avoid the central business district around the construction site on the corner of Monument Road and Central Avenue due to protest action.
For a second time this week protesters have gathered at the site to voice their dissatisfaction with the number of local residents employed by the contractors.
The metro police have closed Monument Road between Voortrekker Road and Central Avenue.
This is a developing story and more information will follow. Kempton Express and ward councillor Simon Lapping are at the scene.
According to Lapping a gate to the site had been broken open, despite a court order being obtained by the developers.
