Youth vision stages exhibition at Moses Molelekwa Art Centre

Young people leading the fight against poverty.

Gauteng Young Vision (GYV) staged an exhibition at Moses Molelekwa Art Centre on June 13.

The founder and managing director of GYV, Elias Sibeko, said GYV organised the event in partnership with the Department of Labour, Economic Development, Ward4Youth leadership, Tiego Skills Development and Training, Sanaco Co-operatives, Nhlosenhle NPO, iCollege, Mpumalanga Young Vision NPO, motivational speaker Marven Thato and Holistic Synergy.

“We had a wonderful opening and welcoming by Elias Sibeko and GYV ambassador Nonhlanhla Pretty Simelane.

“Tiego Skills Development and Training presented their own business model as a company that aims to provide young people with the best platform to fight against poverty through various business ventures,” said Sibeko.

He said Economic Development aims to empower young people by equipping youth with leadership skills and other valuable opportunities.

Motivational speaker Marven Thato shared vital messages by encouraging attendees to humble themselves and told young people to believe in their personal qualities and trust in God, then they will prosper.

Gauteng Young Vision provide opportunities for young people.

“The objective of the workshop or youth expo is to find common ground and share the same vision.

“We must create a space and platform for South Africans to hone their skills, share knowledge, learn, get empowered, engage and establish contacts.

“We want to create meaningful networks that will enable us to successfully implement our ideas, sustain our ventures, articulate our views and opinions.

“We want to form strong and productive partnerships to gain strength through shared business experiences, successes and mishaps.”

Sibeko explained the project intended to alleviate poverty and unemployment

“We are reminding people about their ability to become whatever they wish to be.

“In this workshop, each and everyone was reminded that we all have the potential and capabilities to be great at what we do.

“Nothing is impossible if we put our minds to it and work hard enough,” Sibeko said.

According to Sibeko, GYV focuses on four main points:

• Education and learner development

• Community upliftment

• Welfare

• Healthy living and recreation
