Deep hole in Glen Marais still open after four months

The pipe burst on March 23 and was fixed on March 26. Since then, nothing.

Four months after a pipe burst on the pavement of a Glen Marais resident, the metro still has to fill the gaping hole.

Although the burst pipe was fixed three days after being reported, Jeremy Duvenage of Haak-en-steek Road reported the hole three times without any success.

He now has three reference numbers, of which the last was obtained on July 10.

He said the pipe burst on March 23 and was fixed on March 26. Since then, nothing.

“Not only is the street a mess with soil all over the road, but there is also a huge risk for someone falling into the deep hole,” said Duvenhage.

The metro did not reply to Kempton Express’ questions at the time of going to print.
