Tembisa SAPS is warning the community to be aware of people who are phoning and telling them about their job applications.
According to the Tembisa SAPS communications officer, Captain Manyadza Ralidzivha, there are unknown people who are phoning people who applied to be enlisted in the South African Police Service (SAPS).
“The bogus recruiters act as if they are from the recruitment offices. They tell people they must deposit a certain amount of money at a money market,” said Ralidzivha.
He explained the money is claimed to be for “securing” their place in the SAPS.
“They further tell people if they don’t deposit the money, their application will not be considered,” he added.
Ralidzivha said a member of the community was told to deposit money and hand his CV in at one of the offices at the Tembisa SAPS.
He said at police stations there aren’t any recruitment officers.
“All applications are dealt with by the recruitment officers who are based at provincial and national offices in Parktown and Pretoria respectively. People should beware of those people who are syphoning money from them with the pretence they will help you to be enlisted in the SAPS. Don’t listen to those people, they are robbing you of your money,” said Ralidzivha.
“Let us stop to be played with by unknown people pretending to help. There is no job for sale. SAPS does not sell jobs, even the application forms are not for sale,” Ralidzivha concluded.
