Rabie Ridge SAPS unites with community in fighting crime
Rabie Ridge SAPS hold hands with the community to fight women abuse.
On August 25 Rabie Ridge CPF Women Forum celebrated Woman’s Month with NGOs and various stakeholders at Mayibuye Church.
SAPS communications officer in Rabie Ridge Captain Mofana Masela said the forum gathered in response to the escalating number of assaults and domestic violence reported to the Rabie Ridge Police Station.
“Different stakeholders were engaging on how to support and empower women, and the church was engaged in praying for the safety of women and children.”
Constable Jacob Nhlongo encouraged women to report crimes of domestic violence.
Masela told women that they must also pray all the time and be examples to their own children and that all stakeholders should echo their commitment to ensuring the safety of women and children.
South African National Council on Alcoholism (SANCA) encouraged parents and children to make use of their services which they render to communities of Rabie Ridge and the whole of Midrand.
Rabie Ridge SAPS station commander Colonel Johana Ngoma attended the service to give support to women.
Mavis Moraswi, the long-serving community SAPS volunteer, led the event and continues to give dedicated service by leading her community crime-fighting structures.
