NATIONAL NEWS: ER24 medic critically injured at accident scene in Secunda

An ER24 medic was critically injured when a car ploughed into an accident scene in Secunda on Saturday evening.

Ineke van Huyssteen, spokesperson for ER24, said the circumstances surrounding the incident was not yet clear.

“Three medics from the ER24 Secunda branch attended to a collision on the R546 when they were knocked down by a vehicle. One is in a critical condition and two others sustained moderate injuries,” she said.

They were transported to Mediclinic Highveld. The critically injured medic was later airlifted by ER24’s medical helicopter to Johannesburg for further medical care.
