Learn about wine at entrepreneurs workshop

Startup Grind Tembisa will present its seventh entrepreneurship networking event on September 27 at Youth Employment Service (Yes) in Tembisa.

Lerato Molongoana, Startup Grind Tembisa director, said at the event they will be hosting Prince Moeng from Moeng Winery, a premium winemaking company founded on the African dream.

“This event is for those who yearn to understand the ins and outs of starting their own winery business, whether you start it from scratch or just buy another winery.

“Prince will be sharing the information you need to know on running a winery.

“Local entrepreneurs who want to connect and network with like-minded people are encouraged to attend,” said Molongoana.

She said the event will start at 5.30pm and continue until 8.30pm at Yes Tembisa at 78 Andrew Mapheto Drive in Makhulong Section.

Asked what the Startup Grind is about, Molongoana said the success of startup businesses and entrepreneurship depends strongly on active networking, association with like-minded aspirants, motivational talks and inspiration to grow and flourish.

Therefore, she said, entrepreneurship being the new age and townships being the new economy, the significance of an entrepreneurial journey lies in the power of association, and Startup Grind creates a conducive space for those associations to thrive.

“At Startup Grind Tembisa we have hosted guests like Tshepo Mohlala (founder of Tshepo, the Jean Maker), Lelo Rammitloa (founder of Got Paper) and recently 28-year-old Nkosinathi Moshoana (general manager at Primestars) who is a global youth advocate,” said Molongoana.

She said she was pleased by the attendance at their recent event on August 30 and sees the entrepreneurship network event gradually gaining popularity and empowering more Kasi entrepreneurs.

“We are the only Startup Grind chapter in a township, all the other chapters are hosted in the cities.

“Here we encourage making friendships to grow the community of entrepreneurs that can provide support to their peers so the journey of entrepreneurship does not become lonely,” Molongoana explained.
