Heritage Day celebrated in style at Tawana Daddy’s Learning Centre
Heritage Day is of utmost importance to the little ones
Tawana Daddy’s Learning Centre on Krokodil Street in Norkem Park went out of its way to make Heritage Day special for the little ones attending the créche.
The créche opened in January, focusing mainly on babies and children up to five years old.
The school has a team of dedicated teachers and a principal who had partnered with some of the children’s parents and together they are also responsible for an orphanage and shelter that runs as the second part of the créche, reaching out to troubled children whose cases vary from HIV, to rape victims and homelessness.
“Heritage Day is of utmost importance to the little ones as they learn about their roots and culture. They also learn about different types of traditional foods, dresses and dances. Children are taught the rich history and the diversity of different cultures of this beautiful country,” one teacher said.
