Children in Glen Marikana welcome donation from police

Children receive a generous visit from Kempton Park police officers.

Children at Angels-Keepers Day Care and Crèche in Glen Marikana Informal Settlement received a visit from Kempton Park SAPS members on September 21.

The officers, Capt Jethro Mtshali, Const Phetole Mashatola and Sgt Thembisile Mgoro, spent time with the children who were very curious about the police force with some stating they wanted to join the force when they grew up.

The visit was motivated by donating clothes and nappies to the children.

“We just wanted to do something nice to help the children and staff at the crèche,” said Mtshali.

“The staff and principal are doing a great job at the school and it was lovely to spend time with and engage with the little ones.”

The crèche’s principal, Adrie Mohlareng, was humbled by the gesture.

“I am very grateful and happy because this shows there are people who think about and care for our children. This means a lot to us, the children and their parents.”
