Entshonalanga Primary’s Grade Rs off to big school next year

Entshonalanga Primary School held a graduation ceremony on November 10 to celebrate the achievements of their Grade R learners who will move on to Grade 1 class next year.

The event, which took place in the school hall, was officiated over by the master of ceremonies, Chippa Makhubela, the school’s Grade Two teacher.

Makhubela made the preliminary introductions and directed the programme.

School principal Fana Digashu thanked the Grade R staff for the great work of teaching they did for the learners throughout the year.

It is time to dance, it seems, for the happy Grade R learners on their graduation ceremony.

“These learners, who will someday become future leaders, are the products of this school. It is through the staff and children’s hard work that today we are celebrating their achievements,” said Digashu.

He also thanked parents and everyone who made the event possible.

The group of 97 learners, divided into three classes, took part in various educational activities to the great delight of their parents.

The main part of the ceremony saw Grade R head of department (HoD) Cynthia Mawela, joined by Digashu and another Grade R teacher Jane Mokwele, hand over the certificates to the learners for passing their numeracy, life skills and literacy classes.

During the certificates handing over ceremony, parents couldn’t contain their excitement for the children’s historical moment. They ululated and took photographs.

Grade R teacher Jane Mokwele thanked everyone who came to celebrate the wonderful day with the children.

The day closed with a delicious meal and soft beverages.
