Residents left confused as fault on Eskom cables also strike Kempton

Residents took to social media, looking for the correct schedule.

A substation that went down earlier this morning, has left residents ‘in the dark’ as far as load shedding is concerned.

Stage 2 load shedding was implemented by Eskom at 9am and more or less at the same time, suburbs in Ward 15, Van Riebeeck Park, Birchleigh and a section of Glen Marais, were also left without power.

Residents took to social meeting, looking for the correct schedule.

Ward councillor Gideon van Zyl reported that the energy department has a problem on the 88kv lines, which are the feeder lines from Eskom.

“It is being attended to. This is not load shedding,” he said.

According to the load shedding schedule of the metro, this is how Kempton Park will be affected today:

9am to 1pm: Glen Marais, Allen Grove, Norkem Park, Birchleigh Extensions and Bonaero Park

12.30pm to 3.30pm: Birch Acres, Terenure, Edleen, Van Riebeeck Park, Kempton West

3pm to 6pm: Bredell, Pomona, Glen Marais Ext 49, 52, 89 & 98, Serengeti, Brentwood Park, Aston Manor, Nimrod Park, Parts of Kempton Park Ext 2 & Ext 4

5.30pm to 8.30pm: Ripple geyser control

8pm to 10pm: Kempton Park CBD, Kempton Park Ext, Croydon, Cresslawn, Rhodesfield, Kelvin Estate and Esther Park
