Cell C gives much-needed wheelchair to Tembisa boy

It will also give him the chance to view the world around him as he currently lies down all the time.

The lives of two Gauteng children, one from Tembisa, will improve dramatically thanks to Cell C’s ongoing Acts of Kindness campaign.

The Angel Network alerted Cell C to the plight of two young boys who desperately require wheelchairs to improve the quality of their lives and that of their carers.

Eight-year-old Knowledge Kgomoesana from Tembisa has spina bifida and needs a wheelchair that provides much-needed neck support. This will enable his mother, who cares for him around the clock, to feed him while he is sitting upright.

It will also give him the chance to view the world around him as he currently lies down all the time.

The second wheelchair recipient was Emmanuel Ndanga (7) from Johannesburg whose difficult birth left him severely disabled and suffering from cerebral palsy.

At the age of four, Emmanuel saw a paediatric neurologist who got his seizures under control.

Says Suzette van der Merwe, managing executive of Cell C CSI: “These are children desperately in need of help. We believe that their lives will be immeasurably improved thanks to these wheelchairs which will afford them some mobility. We feel privileged to be in a position to help.”
