Tembisa residents observe 16 Days of Activism
Sithuthukisa Isizwe Place of Safety fights against abuse.
On December 8 Sithuthukisa Isizwe Place of Safety observed the 16 Days of Activism for No Violence Against Women and Children at Ethafeni Park.
Founder and director of Sithuthukisa Isizwe Place of Safety Phindile Hlongwane said the event was mainly about gender-based violence.
“Normally we talk about a girl child and forget about a boy child.
“We always focus on women and girls but what about the boys? They are the ones committing rapes. They are the ones who are abusing women.
“I would like to thank everyone who sponsored the event,” said Hlongwane.

We had keynote speakers for the day such as Gabsile Khoza from Siyazigabisa Home and Dev Kolobe Mamabolo (Man of the year for 2017).
“We are also excited about the presence of Delisa Bhembe and Jabulane Masuku as part of the supporters for this event,” said Hlongwane.
“Business people donated many toiletries for young girls in prison and we really appreciate these donations.
“We thank the parents who allowed their children to be part of the event.
“The children have learned a lot. I have also learned a lot from the programme,” said Hlongwane.
