Busy Bees graduate at concert

Santa also made his way to the event and gave each child a Christmas gift.

Birchleigh North’s Busy Bee Education Centre concluded its year’s events through a graduation ceremony at Coen Scholtz Community Centre in Birchleigh North.

The school combined the graduation ceremony with its annual concert.

“Every year we host the prestigious event and this year we went with a Christmas theme,” said the centre’s principal, Monica Nhlapo.

“Tshedza Phosiwa and Vhuhwavho Mabilu were this year’s graduates who are sadly leaving Busy Bee but we congratulate and wish them all the best going forward, hoping they will make themselves, their parents and Busy Bee proud as they begin the next phase of their educational journey.”

The younger ones at the school rendered an item which had the audience on their feet, applauding their bravery and confidence. They were assisted by their teacher, Melita Ndlovu.

Phosiwa and Mabilu were also the school’s head boy and girl.

“Every year we crown a head boy and head girl who learn the importance of discipline and leadership at a young age. They also help to guide their peers throughout the year, and Phosiwa and Mabilu carried their duties well,” said Nhlapo.

“It is crucial to instil good values and skills in our children at the fundamental stage.”

Phosiwa and Mabilu were not the only learners who received certificates. Other learners were also awarded certificates for various achievements including diligence and hard work.

Children at Busy Bee Education Centre gave their best performance during their concert. This was a dramatisation of a skit of the birth of Jesus Christ.

“We need to celebrate the children’s achievements, big and small because this encourages them to continue to excel and to want to do more,” said Nhlapo.

The children remembered their script lines, dance routines, Christmas carols and items during the concert after the graduation ceremony.

Santa also made his way to the event and gave each child a Christmas gift.

“Thank you to the teachers and parents for all their efforts in ensuring this event was a success. Another big thank you to the parents who support their children’s education needs. I work with amazing parents and staff. A big thank you to all our family and friends. Merry Christmas and a happy New Year to you and our community,” concluded Nhlapo.
