Palmiet booster station resumes pumping at full capacity
Consumers are urged to still use water sparingly

Rand Water on Friday said its Palmiet booster station had resumed pumping at full load.
The switch gear at the station failed a week ago which resulted in a slight reduction of water supply to customers.
“We continued to supply our customers despite lower than normal reservoir levels. Throughout this critical period, Rand Water had consistently maintained water levels in its network,” Justice Mohale, spokesperson for Rand Water, said.
“However, due to the high water consumption as a result of the heat wave, we had restricted our customers’ meters in an effort to ensure an equitable supply of water to all customers. Rand Water would like to urge all consumers to continue to conserve water and use it sparingly.”
