Fun race for a good cause

Athletes of Kempton Park roadrunners took on a 10km run on December 8 in aid of Nordic Rescue SA.
Nordic Rescue SA is focused on reuniting lost/found huskies, husky crosses and other Nordic-breeds with their owners. If and when that is not possible, they aim to re-home those dogs and give them a second chance at a family.
According to Charl Whitaker, chairman of Kempton Park Road Runners, they have a lot of fun every year when they choose a different charity where people come and join in the fun and donate generously towards the chosen charity.

Young and old enjoyed the morning as well as a Nordic dog. The runners thanked BUCO Kempton Park for its generosity with some drinks, water and fun prizes.

“We host 4km or 8km time trials at Barnard Stadium at 6pm every Tuesday. They are also welcome to join our annual night race on January 30.
“The school with the most athletes finishing the 5km race receives a computer,” Whitaker added.
