Ivory Park SAPS wishes residents a safe, happy Christmas and prosperous New Year

The station commander wants to assure those who stay behind that his staff members will be hard at work as they strive to ensure that peace prevails.

The station commander of the Ivory Park SAPS, Brigadier David Mbongeni Ngcobo, is wishing the residents of Ivory Park and its entire precincts a safe and merry Christmas and prosperous New Year.

The station commander further wishes to express his heartfelt appreciation to all community structures and community members who supported the Ivory Park police in crime-fighting initiatives.

“We could not have achieved some our successes without numerous tip-offs we received from our law-abiding residents. For that we are eternally grateful. We hope that as many people as possible become the eyes and ears of the police this festive season in order to ensure that criminal elements are kept at bay,” said Ngcobo.

“The festive season is a time when most people get to spend time with their loved ones, and the Ivory Park police are calling on everyone not to let their guard down, especially in as far as it relates to their personal safety.”

Ngcobo advised people to, among other safety measures, avoid withdrawing large amounts of cash as this attracts criminals.

“Instead people should pay electronically for their purchases. Advised those who drink to do so responsibly. Keep a tab on their children as kidnappings and incidents of missing children are common during this time. For those who drive to respect road rules and pedestrians; and for those who are visiting their loved ones elsewhere to ensure that their properties are well secured,” he said.

The station commander wants to assure those who stay behind that his staff members will be hard at work as they strive to ensure that peace prevails.

Once more he called on all law-abiding citizen to assist the police in watching out for the criminals and any criminal act, and to tip them off accordingly.
