Children strut their stuff at event
Mountain Peak Children and Youth Development believe in township talent.

Tembisa children closed the 2018 year with a stylish event where they showcased their modelling skills before the adoring audience.
On December 8, 2018, Mountain Peak Children and Youth Development hosted its second annual pageant where the young ones took to the ramp to strut their stuff.

Founder and organiser of the event Busisiwe Nkosi said the categories were Mini Miss 1632, Petite Miss 1632, Pre-Teen Miss 1632, Miss Teen 1632 as well as Jnr Mr 1632, Pre-Teen Mr 1632 and Teen Mr 1632, not forgetting their popular Public Choice Award.

“We are also proud to announce that our main prize, among others, is a modelling contract as well as a photo shoot. Our main winners will be doing community service work during their reigning year, as we are grooming them into caring for our community and making a difference,” said Nkosi.
She said they are also looking to introduce a career mentorship programme to the children who participate in the pageant and that programme will eventually expand to non-participants.

“We would also like to thank all our sponsors Black Like Me, IMTC Online TV, TP Productions and most importantly Delisa Bhembe of DelisaBhem Eatery for sponsoring our little ones with delicious food and making sure everyone is well fed.
“We also extend our gratitude to other sponsors not mentioned on this platform, not forgetting our lovely judges and the DJ,” said Nkosi.

“I would also like to thank everyone else who contributed to the success of the event, especially the parents who dedicated their time and made effort in making sure their children follow the theme.
“Thank you for sharing your creativity with us. It is a humbling experience when we unite as a community for the benefit of our children and youth.”
Mountain Peak Children and Youth Development will stage their next pageant this year on December 7.
