Train to train your dog

You must bring your vet vaccination card with on the day, as well as your dog.

Birch Acres Dog Training Club will host its first registration and intake day for 2019 on January 19.

“Our aim is to train you to train your dog and to make dog training more fun and enjoyable,” said Fiona Pittuck, a committee member of the club.

Registration times are: 10am puppies; 12.30pm bridging 1, beginners and scholars; 2.30pm bridging 2, novice, A, B, C and D.

If you are only registering for extra activities and country membership, be there at either at 12.30pm or 2.30pm.

You must bring your vet vaccination card with on the day, as well as your dog, yummy treats and a toy, as there will be an introduction with the trainer.

The club offers puppy socialising (eight weeks to five months), bridging class for first-time trainers (six months and older), obedience training, scholars class (handlers between the ages of 8-15), agility, companion dog, flyball, a sniffer dog and tracking training.

To register, your dog must have been vaccinated with the five-in-one as well as rabies vaccination within the past 12 months.
