Ivory Park lass does well in Mr and Miss Sosha Pageant

Ivory Park's own is first runner-up in Mr and Miss Sosha Pageant.

The Mr and Miss Sosha Pageant was recently held at Halala Community Hall at Soshanguve Block H.

The organisers are Thandeka Mabuza, who studies journalism at Unisa and Bonolo Matsheka who is an IT student at Rosebank College.

“Our aim is to promote diversity within the industry with quality, and help young men and women realise their strengths and capabilities,” said Bonolo.

Thandeka said the reason for hosting Mr and Miss Sosha 2019 is to empower young men and women.

“The pageant strives to create an opportunity for young men and women to be leaders of tomorrow, giving them a platform to express themselves and empowering them to become ambassadors, entrepreneurs and warriors, the kind of people who believe in themselves and pursue their goals and dreams,” said Thandeka.

The results of the pageant are:

Little Miss Sosha

• Second runner-up: Chantel Mokoena

• First runner-up: Lethabo Makoka

• Winner: Faith Mahlangu

Miss Teen Sosha

• Second runner-up: Mahlatsi Masombuka

• First runner-up: Natasha Maja

• Winner: Hlalefang Thlomotsana

Miss Sosha

• Second runner-up: Koketso Molope

• First runner-up: Mirriam Bila

• Winner: Mancha Selopyane

Mr Sosha

• Second runner-up: Fickson Brown

• First runner-up: Jimmy

• Winner: Thabang Tshetsla.

Mirriam Bila (25), from Ivory Park, said this was not her first pageant. She heard about it and decided to go for the auditions.

“I felt really proud of myself and excited about the work behind the title, which is giving back to the community,” she said.
