Ivory Park child-headed home gets help from Karisa Aluminium

Ngoma said the teenager was very grateful for the gesture by his company.

On May 10 Karisa Aluminium lent a helping hand to a teenage-headed home whose mother died when he was only 13.

The 16-year-old Sibusiso Cebekhulu lives in Ivory Park. Fate struck again for the lad when he lost to death his aunt, and a caretaker, in December.

Now the owner of the aluminium business has taken it upon himself to give back to community, and to the family, by painting the walls of the boy’s dilapidated home as a gesture of goodwill that his company cares about the boy’s plight, as well as the community in which his business operates.

The owner of the company, Andile Ngoma, said he took it upon himself to spruce up the house so that it looks neater.

“Sibusiso Cebekhulu is a 16-year-old a teenager who lives with a cousin. As a small renovation business, we felt we could lend a helping hand. The old paint is peeling off, and the house started to look old and dirty, and so we thought we should help,” said Ngoma.

He said the teenager has no parents as his mother died when he was only 13.

“The teenager was left with his aunt who also died last December.

“This is the first time we extend a hand of help. As Karisa Aluminium we aim to do more for the community as we get more support from our customers,” said the entrepreneur.

Ngoma said the teenager was very grateful for the gesture by his company.

He is appealing to the community to join hands and offer help to other child-headed homes.

“As the business grows, we will be able to reach out to more needy families.
