The school called on to the learners, dressed in their sporting kits, to showcase the newly acquired sporting gear to their fellow learners. While showcasing the new equipment, Peter Zongwane was also hosting a career day event. The learners came dressed in professions of their choice.
Faith Botha a grade 7 learner, took the podium to educate others about being a lawyer. Botha said she aspires to become a lawyer because she wants to defend people, innocent of their crimes, let the law deal with the guilty and protect the innocent from injustice.
“I know many people say they do not want to be lawyers because lawyers lie, but to be one doesn’t make any difference,” said Botha.
Nomusa Yakopi Educator /Sports Coordinator said the learners have dressed in a career uniform of their choice so in future they will know which career path to follow.
“In term 3 they get to be involved in a research programme whereby they researched their career choices and came to present in class for marks,”
Yakopi added that the school has performed well in previous sports competitions particularly in soccer and netball.
“Our netball and soccer teams have been awarded a trophy at the district level, as a school we will be able to represent ourselves better going forward, thanks to the assistance from the NLC,” said Yakopi.
