Fuming residents woke up again on Thursday morning without water, following lengthy repairs in Isando.
Glen Marais and Kempton Park extensions were still without water this morning, ward councillor Jaco Terblanche said.
According to him air pockets in the system prevent water from flowing through to customers.
“Had all fire hydrants been opened to get rid of these air pockets, this would not have happened,” a frustrated Terblanche told Kempton Express on Thursday morning.
“It is a circus. We were not even told where in Isando the repairs were done.”
The last information supplied by the City of Ekurhuleni was a tweet and short notice on the metro’s Facebook page, sent at 1.33pm on Wednesday, telling residents water should be restored by 5pm on Wednesday night.

A team is attending to the water supply interruption affecting Spartan, Cresslawn, Kempton Park CBD, Aston Manor, Allen Grove, Nimrod Park, Glen Marais, Bonaero Park and Part of Pomona and Bredel.
Supply will be restored this afternoon at 17:00.
After that everything went silent as the water stayed away.
As water did not come back at the promised time, residents turned to social media to vent their frustration with the City of Ekurhuleni.
Councillors were informed on Thursday morning that valves were opened on Wednesday.
“We have noted the areas which are still affected and we are working on it to restore supply to the affected areas,” the message read.
“Some areas had water but it seems high lying areas, especially in Glen Marais, did not recover yesterday,” the message continued.
The original notice sent out by the City of Ekurhuleni informed residents of a water shutdown from 11am on Tuesday to Wednesday 5am for planned maintenance.
Kempton Express has sent a list of questions to the City of Ekurhuleni for answers.
