Just days before official schooling comes to a break, the Rabasotho-based police visited Bertharry English Private School on Monday where they motivated and taught the learners about the dangers of engaging in criminal activities and abusing drugs and alcohol.
The learners were also encouraged to develop the culture of reporting any crime or criminal activities to either the police or their parents and teachers.
Giving some words of encouragement was the station’s spokesperson, Capt Manyadza Ralidzhivha, whose speech was on imagination and dreaming big to achieve greatness.
“If you want to do something, you don’t just get up and say you are going to do it, but you start by imagining it. “You visualise it over and over in your head until you are satisfied that it will work.
“Dreams are built and realised through imagination and this is why it is important for you as learners to start imagining and visualising your future. The dream to a better tomorrow starts here with a single image in your heads,” said Ralidzhivha.
“Through imagination, you can do and achieve great things,” added Ralidzhivha, “but be warned, it is not going to be easy like that as there will be obstacles along the way to your better future. The best recipe for success is to work hard and never give up. If you want a degree or a certain qualification, you can start by visualising and start working hard for it now.”
