Glen Marais dad’s app will benefit local businesses

Local shisanyama entrepreneur develops app for small business providers to be found easily.

Bongani Nkosi (40) from Glen Marais is using his platform in the entertainment industry to better the future local businesses.

Nkosi was born and bred in Mpumalanga and is the founder of a shisanyama in Rhodesfield.

The father and husband said he came up with the idea for the Buzzapp after opening his shisanyama. It is a brand patrons can easily identify with because it is built on the authentic African lifestyle and local culture.

“The idea for the app came about when I started an events company. I struggled to find different services in one place and had to rely on friends to refer services I needed, for example graphic designers, equipment to hire, sound and more,” said Nkosi.

“With the app you can search any services in your area by just typing the keywords according to what you need. Small to medium businesses can register for free in order to be available on the app data. The service provider gives details and a small description with pictures on registering.

Entrepreneur Bongani Nkosi has developed an app that allows local small businesses to be located easily.

“You can chat with the service provider instantly via WhatsApp, SMS, call or email. The app is user friendly and can be a very useful household tool.

“You are also able to see the location of and directions to the service provider through Google Maps which is also linked to the app.

“Only service providers need to register. All other users can just go straight to the service search after downloading the app,” said Nkosi.

He said the target users are small to medium businesses which don’t have websites and online marketing like driving schools, event planners, car washes, kota corners and restaurants (traditional food). This includes people who would like to get quotes and comparisons.

“As any other online platform, it is still the user’s responsibility to take extra caution when dealing with other parties. We have taken security measures by allowing email verification on registering. We also linked WhatsApp to make sure that the service providers’ cellphone numbers are verified. There is no risk or obligations to register.”

The app is available on Google Play and the App Store.
