Class of 2019 applauded
The class of 2019 did the unexpected by breaking the 80% barrier since the advent of democracy
Days after different tertiary institutions opened doors the Kuzondlula Motivational Tour and the Faith Based Organisation have applauded all the schools and learners that performed well in the 2019 matric exams.
The KMT’s director of communications, Reckson Mahori, said the class of 2019 did the unexpected by breaking the 80% barrier since the advent of democracy.
“As an organisation that is also passionate about education, we would like to take this opportunity and congratulate all the learners and schools that performed well.
“We fully support Minister of Basic Education Angie Motshekga’s announcement of the introduction of subjects such as entrepreneurship into the curriculum. The introduction of such subjects into the national curriculum is a step towards the right direction for our education,” said Mahori.

He challenged the minister and the Department of Education to introduce more of such subjects in the curriculum.
“We believe that such subjects will equip the learners with digital skills. Digital skills subjects will equip learners with much-needed fourth industrial revolution skills. The curriculum should include subjects which will teach learners robotics, coding skills as well as app development skills,” suggested Mahori.
The current leader of the Faith Based Organisation, Bishop Michael Mtshali, said, “As we congratulate those who performed well, we are mindful of the work that still needs to be done by schools and teachers to produce yet another successful class.
“We are looking at the teachers and these learners who just passed their matric to inspire our young people to choose education over anything else. We would like to wish our teachers well as they continue to feed and empower the nation with education.”
