Guarding supervisor hit by car in front of Kempton SAPS

The 49-year-old suffered a blow to his head.

While crossing Monument Road opposite Kempton Park Police station on Monday evening, Pieter Anderson (49) was hit by a BMW that struck him unconscious.

A driver, one passenger and a baby were in the green BMW. No one in the car was injured.

Gerald Groenewald from Sec Pros said that Anderson, from North Rand Road, works as a guarding supervisor at the organisation and was headed home after buying food for his family at 7.30pm.

“He heard the screeching of tyres and that was the last thing he remembered,” Groenewald said.

Anderson was lucky that his colleagues were in near proximity to the scene of the accident.

“The Sec Pros team and numerous other companies were training at the police station when they heard the accident. Team members were shocked to find one of our own laying on the street in front of the vehicle, unconscious.”

An ILS medic was on scene within minutes and started treatment before transporting Anderson to Tembisa Hospital for further care. Anderson regained consciousness at the hospital.

The 49-year-old suffered a blow to his head.

Groenewald said Anderson has been a part of Sec Pros for the past three years after having been in the security industry for nearly three decades.

Anderson is known for his heroic act after an accident on the evening of April 24, 2018, where he pulled an unconscious driver from his car after he had crashed into the dam at Goodies for Gardens.
