Stage 2 load shedding is back tonight
Due to system constraints and depleting emergency resources, it was necessary to revert to load shedding

Eskom will implement stage 2 load shedding from 9pm tonight until 6am on Friday morning.
The utility on Thursday afternoon said due to system constraints and depleting emergency resources, it was necessary to revert to load shedding.
“We have been using pumped storage schemes and open cycle gas turbines extensively over the past few days and need to replenish these overnight.”
Kempton’s schedule for tonight:
9pm to 11pm: Kempton Park CBD, Kempton Park Extensions, Croydon, Cresslawn, Rhodesfield, Kelvin Estate and Esther Park
10.30pm to midnight: Birchleigh, Birchleigh North, Glen Erasmia, Kaalfontein, Esselen Park and Esselen Park Extensions
Midnight to 3am: Birch Acres, Terenure, Edleen, Van Riebeeck Park, Kempton West
2.30am to 5.30am: Bredell, Pomona, Glen Marais Extensions (49, 52, 89 & 98), Serengeti, Brentwood Park, Aston Manor, Nimrod Park, Parts of Kempton Park Ext 2 & Ext 4
